Medal

The work of Katharina Knapkiewicz and Alexander Fickert is characterized by its absence of ideology and thus its relaxed treatment of the inheritance of modernist housing typologies. It is not the neutral domestic space that is being offered in their work, but a form of space that awakens the users’ undiscovered potential for inhabitation

Katharina Knapkiewicz and Alexander Fickert are honored with the medal of the Schelling Architecture Prize 2010.

Medal

Heatherwick’s approach to architecture is unusual, as on the one hand crafted materials are emphasized, while on the other hand prototyping and production processes are valued. Beyond this, Heatherwick evidently has the gift of enthusing people and the ability to use the various talents of his numerous collaborators to “bring things to life”.

Tom Heatherwick is honoured with the medal of the Schelling Architecture Prize 2010.
