Heatherwick’s approach to architecture is unusual, as on the one hand crafted materials are emphasized, while on the other hand prototyping and production processes are valued. Beyond this, Heatherwick evidently has the gift of enthusing people and the ability to use the various talents of his numerous collaborators to “bring things to life”.
Tom Heatherwick is honoured with the medal of the Schelling Architecture Prize 2010.
