| Der Erich Schelling Architekturpreis |
Die Preise der Erich Schelling Stiftung werden alle zwei Jahre ausgelobt. Es obliegt allein
der Kompetenz der Jury und ihren weltweiten Korrespondenten in einer um-
fassenden Sichtung
und Analyse der internationalen Architekturszene geeignete Kandidaten zu finden und die
Entscheidung zu fällen. Eine Bewerbung für die Preise und die Medaillen ist ausgeschlossen.
Der „Erich Schelling Preis“ wird in den Kate-
gorien Architektur und Architekturtheorie vergeben.
Außerdem werden in beiden Kategorien die „Erich Schelling Medaillen“ als besondere Anerkennung und Würdigung verliehen.
Mit dem ERICH SCHELLING PREIS für Architektur und die „Erich Schelling Medaillen für
Architektur“ werden begabte Architektinnen und Architekten, die am Beginn ihrer Karriere stehen,
ausgezeichnet. Mit dem Preis und den Medaillen sollen sie in ihrem eigenen Bestreben bestärkt und die
Öffentlichkeit auf ihre Bedeutung für das aktuelle Architekturgeschehen aufmerksam gemacht werden.
Der ERICH SCHELLING PREIS für Architekturtheorie und die „Erich Schelling Medaillen für
Architekturtheorie“ sollen die bedeutsame Rolle der Theorie der Architektur als kreative
gesellschaftlich wirksame Kraft sowie die ebenso kreative und intellektuelle Bedeutung der Kritik
würdigen.
Die Erich Schelling Preise und die Medaillen werden alle zwei Jahre am Todestag des Stifters, am 14.
November, in einem Festakt in Karlsruhe überreicht. Der „Erich Schelling Preis für Architektur“ ist mit
20.000 Euro dotiert, der „Erich Schelling Preis für Architekturtheorie und Architektur-
vermittlung“ mit
10.000 Euro. Die Medaillen sind undotiert.

| The Erich Schelling Architecture Prize |

The prizes of the Erich Schelling Architecture Foundation are awarded every two years. The jury and its world wide net of correspondents is solely responsible for the identification of suitable candidates and for election of the prizewinners and medalists following a comprehensive survey and analysis of the international architecture scene. No application for the prizes and awards are accepted.
The “Erich Schelling Prize” is awarded in the categories of architecture and architectural theory. Furthermore, the “Erich Schelling Medals” are given in both categories in special recognition and appreciation.
The “Erich Schelling Prize for Architecture” and the “Erich Schelling Medals for Architecture” are awarded to architects who are at the beginning of their careers. The prize and the medals are intended to encourage their own endeavours and to draw the public’s attention to their importance in relation to the current architectural development.
The “Erich Schelling Prize for Architectural Theory” and the “Erich Schelling Medals for Architectural Theory” are given in recognition for the significant role of the theory of architecture as a creative and socially effective force as well as the creative and intellectual significance of architectural criticism.
The Erich Schelling Prizes and Medals are presented in a ceremony in Karlsruhe every two years on the 14th November, the day of the founder’s death. The “Erich Schelling Prize for Architecture” is endowed with 20 000 Euro, the “Erich Schelling Prize for Architectural Theory and Architecture Communication” with 10 000 Euro. The Medals are not endowed.
